The information boards are situated at the entrance. It is an important means of communication between home and school and we hope you will find it very useful. We also use it to display community notices and special events. We have close links with the local Burnley Wood Neighbourhood Centre and a Children and Family Wellbeing link worker provides us with regular updates on what is going on locally and what support is available.
Each group has a designated link person and they will email you each week with what is happening in your child's room and how you can get involved. You can also use this to contact your room, as well as use the general office email to contact us if needed.
We very much appreciate your interest and support. This can be in many different ways such as reading with your child at home, getting involved in the topic of interest, bringing interesting items from home or offering your help with preparation work for nursery activities.
We know that many parents and grandparents have particular skills, hobbies and talents and it would be so nice to share these with the children.
A lot of extra parent helpers are always needed for outings, so perhaps this is a way in which you may like to help.
Copies of all our policies are available to read including policies on SEND, curriculum, parental charging, equality and behaviour management. These are all in the policy section of the website. We can supply copies for parents to take home, just ask at the school office.
We like to keep our parents up-to-date with the latest news at our nursery. You can register your email address (or any other device capable of receiving emails). Any urgent general alerts (like school closures) will be sent out via these channels and prominently displayed on our website. We also have a Facebook page. Here you can join in with the secured page with notifications of current news. We also have a public page which has several video clips for you to view on how we work and what sorts of things your child will do at Rockwood.
